Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac. If it says Chip: Apple M…, choose Apple Silicon. If it says Processor: Intel, choose Intel.

Activate after you subscribe

  1. Subscribe on the pricing section. Your licence key appears straight away and arrives by email from [email protected].
  2. Open BowerBite and go to Help → Activate BowerBite.
  3. Paste the key and click Activate. Moving computers later? Deactivate on the old one first.

First launch notes

Windows: if SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. BowerBite is new, so Windows hasn't seen it before.

Mac: open the .dmg, drag BowerBite to Applications, then open it from Applications. If macOS says it can't check the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

BowerBite runs entirely on your computer. It only goes online to check your subscription about once a week, and to download optional transcription and translation models when you first choose them.
